True Blue Trolling Tackle's 8" Fish Flasher  is now available with TRU UV film.  Experienced salmon fishermen asked for this modification as they were very aware of the benefits of UV light reflection when trolling for salmon.  Flashers with UV are often a Charter Captain's secret weapon to ensure a successful day for their clients.  Here's why:
Visible light disappears at about 17' depth or shallower depending upon the water clarity.
Some colors fade much more quickly than others, ie reds and yellows fade first while blues and greens penetrate deeper.
UV light penetrates water much deeper and is believed to be visible to several species in over 100FOW.
TRU UV holographic and transparent lure decals reflect this light while other non-UV tapes cannot.
Ol' Fred's TRU UV - TRU UV with UV film on both sides reflects light from both sides creating a double strobe-like effect.  Other models have the benefit of adding color when fishing shallower as with coho.
By far the most successful colors from personal use during the 2020 Fall run on the Columbia River and offshore for Chinook and Coho was silver/gold and silver/red!  Flo Green and Chartreuse were also excellent, especially for Kings.  The 8' size was the top producer, both in the river and in the ocean.
