Description
Vintage Prof. George Fuller calculator by Stanley, England in original fitted mahogany case and marked with a maker's label for "STANLEY EVERYTHING FOR THE ENGINEER, ARCHITECT, & SURVEYOR IN FIELD DRAWING OFFICE W. E. STANLEY & CO. LTD. LONDON". The body is made of bakelite and the handle and scales of brass. The case measures when closed approximately 18&1/8 inches (46 cm) wide x 4&5/8 inches (11.7 cm) back to front x 4&3/8 inches (11.1 cm) top to bottom.
This fabulous "Fuller" calculator is in "as found" condition.
The ends of the calculator are in mottled Bakelite, I can't find any chips or cracks to the Bakelite. The brass pointer is impressed with "Fuller Calculator" and "Made in England". The brass scale is clear and legible and also has "10172  50" just above the screws.
The outer cylinder tube moves up and down and around the inner cylinder smoothly and all of the lettering, numbers and scales are clear and legible. There are no major stains, splits or tears to the paper,however, there is some crazing to both cylinders. I have tried to show the condition in the photographs.
The Bakelite above the handle is embossed with "Stanley Trade Mark".
The calculator has its' original finger jointed wooden case, this has its' base lined supports and labels to the inside of the lid. The brass support is present as is the mounting on the side of the case.The case is scratched cracked stained and marked on the outside.
The calculator measures 44 cm (17 1/4 inches) long.
